Search Engines<\/strong> are a collective combination of web servers and software which are used to search information on the World Wide Web. The World Wide Web is like a universe of Web Pages and to find a particular web page or WebPages containing particular information is a daunting task. This sophisticated task is performed by the search engines which eases the task of a user in finding information. The search engine builds a massive index of web pages collected with the help of search engine robots<\/a>. With the help of an algorithm<\/strong>, the engines sort the index and finds relevant web pages matching the search query. You would be amazed to hear but it is true that Google<\/strong> serves billions<\/strong> of search queries per day.<\/p>\n

How Do Search Engines Work?<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Search Engines maintain huge servers for storing large databases of web index. The web index is maintained with the help of software known as robots<\/strong><\/a>. These robots wander the web and crawl each and every hyperlink present on the document. Apart from crawlers<\/a>, search engines have various other software for sorting and searching results based on the user query. The user enters search query in the query box and presses enter; then the search engines presents the user with the most relevant document based on the search query within the index maintained by the search engines.<\/p>\n
