Within the WDK installation directory, the package&#8217;s source files are located in the\u00a0<em>src\\general\\toaster\\toastpkg\\toastcd<\/em>\u00a0directory. After you have built and digitally-signed this driver package, copy the driver package to the directory\u00a0<em>c:\\toaster<\/em>\u00a0on the test computer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">To install the driver package through the Add Hardware Wizard, do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To use the Add Hardware Wizard, the user must be a member of the Administrators group on the test computer and run the Add Hardware Wizard from an elevated command prompt. To open an elevated Command Prompt window, create a desktop shortcut to\u00a0<em>Cmd.exe<\/em>, right-click the\u00a0<em>Cmd.exe<\/em>\u00a0shortcut, and select\u00a0<strong>Run as administrator<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the elevated command prompt, do one of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>In Windows 7 and later versions of Windows, run\u00a0<em>Hdwwiz.exe<\/em>\u00a0to start the Add Hardware Wizard, and then click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.\n<div class=\"note\"><strong>Note<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Starting with Windows 7, the\u00a0<strong>Add Hardware Wizard<\/strong>\u00a0can no longer be started from the\u00a0<strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>In Windows Vista and earlier versions of Windows, run\u00a0<em>Hdwwiz.cpl<\/em>\u00a0to start the Add Hardware Wizard, and then click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Advanced Option,<\/strong>\u00a0and then click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Show all devic<\/strong>es in the list box, and then click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Have Disk<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Type the path of the\u00a0<em>C:\\toaster<\/em>\u00a0directory.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Toastpkg.inf<\/em>, and then click\u00a0<strong>Open<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>\u00a0on the next two wizard pages, and then click\u00a0<strong>Finish<\/strong>\u00a0to complete the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"note\"><strong>Important<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The Add Hardware Wizard is intended for driver developers and not end-users. If your\u00a0driver package\u00a0requires the functionality that is provided by this wizard for installation, you should supply end-users with a\u00a0<em>device installation application<\/em>\u00a0that provides the same functionality.
