Show the Rulers (<strong>View\/ View Rulers \/Show Ruler<\/strong>) or (<strong>Ctrl +R<\/strong>). Next drag a vertical guide from the Rulers (if the guides locked, go to the <strong>View\/ Guides\/ Lock Guides<\/strong>) or (<strong>Ctrl +Alt + ;<\/strong>). Now select the blue object, hold down the <strong>Shift<\/strong>, click on the vertical guide, release the <strong>Shift<\/strong> and then click on the blue object again (to fixed its position). Next open the <strong>Align palette<\/strong> (<strong>Window\/ Align<\/strong>) and click on the <strong>Horizontal Align Center button<\/strong>. Now select the newly created object, pick the <strong>Reflect Tool (O)<\/strong>, hold down the <strong>Alt<\/strong> and click on the vertical guide. Pick the <strong>Rectangle Tool (M)<\/strong> and then use this tool to create a <strong>97px by 198px<\/strong> object. Reselect the newly created object, pick the <strong>Reflect Tool (O)<\/strong>, hold down the <strong>Alt<\/strong> and click on the vertical guide. Reselect three newly created anchor points and then click on the \u201c<strong>Convert selected anchor points to smooth<\/strong>\u201d <strong>button<\/strong> from the <strong>Properties bar<\/strong>. Next reselect the green smaller object and add three anchor points highlighted with red. Unlock (<strong>Ctrl +Alt +2<\/strong>) and remove two yellow objects. Now reselect three newly created anchor points and then click on the \u201c<strong>Convert selected anchor points to smooth<\/strong>\u201d <strong>button<\/strong> from the <strong>Properties bar<\/strong>. Keep the result selected, pick the <strong>Add Anchor Point Tool (+)<\/strong> and add four anchor points highlighted with yellow. Next reselect four newly created anchor points and then click on the \u201c<strong>Cut path at selected anchor points<\/strong>\u201d <strong>button<\/strong> from the <strong>Properties bar<\/strong>. Now we have four paths from the result in the previous step. We\u2019ll connect two top paths together. First select and lock (<strong>Ctrl +2<\/strong>) two bottom paths. Next select two anchor points highlighted with red of two top paths and then click on the \u201c<strong>Connect selected end points<\/strong>\u201d <strong>button<\/strong> from the <strong>Properties bar<\/strong>. Next select two anchor points highlighted with blue and then click on the \u201c<strong>Connect selected end points<\/strong>\u201d <strong>button<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display: inline;\" title=\"Create the Egg Box in Illustrator\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.instantshift.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/create-eggbox-in-illustrator-027.jpg\" alt=\"Create the Egg Box in Illustrator\" width=\"600\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>24. Now we\u2019ll connect two bottom paths together. First unlock (<strong>Ctrl +Alt +2<\/strong>) two bottom paths locked in the previous step. Next select two anchor points highlighted with red of two bottom paths and then click on the \u201c<strong>Connect selected end points<\/strong>\u201d <strong>button<\/strong> from the <strong>Properties bar<\/strong>.
